Triple-I Blog | Litigation Reform Works: Florida Auto Insurance Premium Rates Declining

Triple-I Blog | Litigation Reform Works: Florida Auto Insurance Premium Rates Declining

Florida’s top five auto insurance groups are cutting personal auto rates by a statewide average of 6.5 percent due to legislative reforms that addressed legal system abuse and assignment of benefits (AOB) claim fraud, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (OIR) announced this week.

“Citizens of the Sunshine State are now clearly seeing the benefits of a more stable and affordable insurance marketplace,” Triple-I CEO Sean Kevelighan said.

State leaders credit the reforms for driving down both average rates and loss ratios, with Florida now reporting the lowest personal auto liability loss ratio in the United States, OIR said. Improved underwriting results and reduced litigation are helping insurers lower premiums, while increased consumer shopping is boosting competition and affordability across the state’s auto insurance market.

    Resistance to reforms persists

Despite the measurable benefits to consumers, these reforms are under attack in the state legislature. HB 947 and  HB 837 would undo much of this progress.

“The continued reduction in auto insurance rates is yet another sign that Florida’s reforms are working,” said Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. “We will protect our reforms from those who seek to undo them and continue to fight for Floridians.”

Other states, including Georgia and Louisiana, are following Florida’s lead.

Premium relief for Florida drivers comes on top of significant improvements in the state’s property insurance market, where many consumers are securing better rates for their home insurance due to legislative reform and a competitive market with more than a dozen new carriers, Triple-I Director of Corporate Communications Mark Friedlander told BestWire.

“For many years, unscrupulous glass vendors preyed upon Florida drivers at car washes, gas stations, and shopping center parking lots with promises of gift cards in exchange for signing over their glass repair,” Friedlander said. “When insurers rejected these highly inflated claims, frivolous lawsuits followed.”

  • 5 Ways to Reset your Mindset to Stay Focused on your Goals

5 Ways to Reset your Mindset to Stay Focused on your Goals

We’re officially in Week 4 of the Summer Shape Up Challenge, and if you’re feeling your motivation fading or you’re not as fired up as you were in Week 1, that’s okay!

It’s common for motivation to fade but it is SO important to get on top of it so you can continue to crush your goals. This is where real transformation happens, not just in your body, but in your mindset.

Here are tips for how to reset your mindset so you can finish out these last few weeks STRONG!

    1. Ditch the “All or Nothing” Mentality

Missed a workout? Ate something not on your plan? Skipped your steps one day?

That’s okay. Things happen. You’re human.

This challenge is not about being perfect. It’s about building consistency and showing up again and again, even after a setback. One day off doesn’t undo all your progress. Quitting does. Let go of the guilt and keep moving forward.

    2. Focus on Non-Scale Wins

The scale is only one (very small) measure of success. What else has shifted?

    • Are your energy levels higher?

    • Are you sleeping better?

    • Are your cravings more manageable?

    • Have you stuck to your goals longer than ever before?

These wins matter. Actually, they matter more. Start tracking the progress you feel, not just what you see.

    3. Revisit Your “Why”

You started this challenge for a reason. Maybe it was to feel more confident. To boost your energy. To finally stick with a plan.

Take a few minutes today to reconnect with your WHY. Write it down. Say it out loud. Put it on a sticky note and place it somewhere you will see for the rest of this challenge. When motivation fades, your WHY is what keeps you going.

    4. Shift from Outcome to Identity

Instead of saying “I want to lose weight,” say “I’m becoming someone who prioritizes her health.”

Instead of “I want to be fit,” say “I’m the kind of woman who doesn’t quit on herself.”

Shifting your focus from what you want to who you’re becoming is powerful. It makes your daily habits feel more like who you are instead of what you’re doing.

    5. Celebrate How Far You’ve Come

You’ve made it to Week 4. That’s a big deal. Most people don’t even take the step and start. But you did. You showed up. And you’re still showing up.

Take a moment and be proud of that. Then use it as proof that you can finish this challenge stronger than you started.

    Ready for Your Reset?

Let this be your moment to reset, refocus, and keep pushing forward. You’ve come too far to stop now. Let’s finish these final few weeks with intention, strength, and confidence.

    You got this.

  • The Simple Sleep Hack That Can Be Lifechanging

The Simple Sleep Hack That Can Be Lifechanging

Call me weird, but oral health has always fascinated me. And it’s more than just brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing. Mouth taping is a newer trend in the natural oral care world, but it’s about so much more than that. This one simple habit can help your overall health improve, sometimes dramatically.

So how does putting a tiny strip of tape over your mouth before bed make that much of a difference? The idea may sound strange, even a little uncomfortable. But after digging into the science and trying it myself, I found something so simple can still have a huge ripple effect on sleep, energy, and even long-term health.

While mouth taping may seem like just another wellness trend, it actually addresses an issue many of us don’t even know we have. Mouth breathing is increasingly common and can cause a cascade of problems.

Why Mouth Breathing at Night Matters More Than You Think

How we breathe is foundational to our health. But for about 50% of the population, mouth breathing (especially during sleep) has become the norm. This seemingly harmless habit is linked to a surprising list of health concerns, both in kids and adults.

    1. Dry Mouth, Cavities, and Bad Breath

When we breathe through our mouth this dries out saliva, which plays a key role in protecting teeth and gums. Saliva keeps the mouth pH balanced, remineralizes teeth, and helps prevent cavities. When saliva production drops at night due to mouth breathing, our risk of tooth decay, gum irritation, and bad breath jumps. You can read more about the importance of saliva here.

    2. Facial Development, Jaw Alignment, and More

Especially in children, proper tongue posture is essential for healthy facial development. When the tongue doesn’t rest on the roof of the mouth (like during nasal breathing), it can lead to narrower palates, crooked teeth, and underdeveloped jaws. These changes can also impact hearing, speech development, and even vision. All of these systems are connected during the developing years.

    3. Tonsil Inflammation

Your nose is nature’s air filter and warms, moisturizes, and cleans the air you breathe. When we bypass the nose and breathe through the mouth, the tonsils take on that role. Over time, this can irritate and inflame the tonsils, especially in kids. The result? Enlarged tonsils, tonsillitis, mouth breathing cycles, and even sleep-disordered breathing.

    4. Obstructed Airways

When we’re mouth breathing and the tongue isn’t where it should be, we’re not breathing deeply and clearly. This oxygen deprivation leads to a whole host of problems, from daytime sleepiness to trouble concentrating and ADHD symptoms.

While there are obvious downsides to mouth breathing (especially at night), mouth taping can be an easy solution.

    What Is Mouth Taping?

Mouth taping is a gentle practice that uses a small piece of skin-safe tape to keep the lips closed. This helps promote nasal breathing and encourages the lips to stay closed at night. It can also help nudge the tongue into the proper posture.

If you’re someone who wakes up with a dry mouth or snores often, this simple shift can make a world of difference. And even if you (or your partner!) don’t snore at night, you still may be mouth breathing without knowing it.

Benefits of Mouth Taping (Backed by Research)

Once I got past the initial awkwardness, mouth taping’s benefits became pretty noticeable. Here are a few reasons why this practice is gaining traction in holistic (and even mainstream) health circles:

    1. Less Snoring and Dry Mouth

Mouth taping naturally reduces snoring for many people by stabilizing the airway through nasal breathing. With less vibration of soft tissues in the throat, the sound (and health risks) of snoring often improve. Snoring isn’t just annoying, it points to some deeper health issues. You’ll also wake up with a moist mouth instead of that dry, cotton-mouth feeling.

    2. Better Dental Health

Saliva is our body’s natural defense against cavities and gum disease. Nasal breathing helps preserve saliva through the night, reduce the risk of decay, and helps keep the oral microbiome in balance.

    3. Improved Sleep and Energy

One of the most noticeable benefits is better quality sleep. When we breathe through our nose we’re getting more oxygen and our body is more likely to stay in that deep, restorative sleep. This is when our brain cleans house, so it’s vital for helping guard against neurodegenerative disorders, like Alzheimer’s. You might notice less waking up in the night, better focus during the day, and a general lift in mood and energy.

    4. More Oxygen to the Brain (and Fewer Negative Brain Symptoms)

One fascinating connection is the link between mouth breathing and symptoms that mimic ADHD in children. Studies show low oxygen levels at night caused by sleep-disordered breathing can lead to poor concentration, hyperactivity, and behavioral issues during the day. Some children diagnosed with ADHD show significant improvement just from addressing their sleep and breathing patterns.

On the other end of the spectrum is disordered breathing’s link to brain disorders in adults. Those who mouth breathe at night or have disordered breathing are significantly more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease.

Sleep Apnea, ADHD, and the Bigger Picture

The effects of poor breathing habits at night go beyond just dry mouth or fatigue. It’s estimated that over 1 billion adults worldwide have obstructive sleep apnea. In this condition the airway collapses during sleep and disrupts our oxygen supply. Many of these cases go undiagnosed for years or still remain undiagnosed.

Sleep apnea has been linked to a long list of health problems, including:

    • High blood pressure
    • Heart disease
    • Stroke
    • Type 2 diabetes
    • Depression

And sleep apnea is just the extreme end of a spectrum. A lesser-known but very common issue is upper airway resistance syndrome (UARS). This is where the body works harder to breathe at night, often without full apneas, but still has poor oxygenation. One red flag for UARS? Teeth grinding.

When Mouth Taping Isn’t a Good Idea

Mouth taping can be powerful, but it’s not for everyone. There are a few situations where it should be avoided or approached with caution:

    • Young children: Kids who aren’t old enough to remove the tape themselves should not use mouth tape. Babies and very young children have delicate airways that can easily become clogged so it’s important to keep their nasal airways open to encourage nasal breathing habits.
    • Nasal congestion or anatomical blockages: If you can’t breathe easily through your nose while awake, you shouldn’t force it at night.

In these cases, it’s important to address the root causes of nasal blockage first. Some common culprits include:

    • Mold exposure in the home
    • Environmental allergens (why we have air filters in our home)
    • Food sensitivities (especially dairy and gluten)
    • A deviated septum or other anatomical issues
    • Narrow palate or misaligned jaw

A great place to start is with an airway-focused ENT (ear, nose, and throat specialist) or a holistic dentist trained in functional breathing and jaw development. They can perform evaluations like 3D cone beam scans. They’ll assess the airway structure and help identify whether soft tissue or skeletal changes are needed. A myofunctional therapist is also a helpful route for mouth breathers to train the tongue to move correctly.

What to Do If You Can’t Breathe Through Your Nose

If mouth taping feels impossible because your nose is always blocked, you’re not alone. This is often a signal your daytime breathing habits need some attention too.

Here are some ways to help retrain your breath:

    • Tongue posture: The tongue should rest on the roof of the mouth, not the bottom. This posture helps widen the palate and support nasal breathing.Myofunctional therapists are helpful for this.
    • Deep breathing: Practices like yoga and breathwork teach you how to breathe more efficiently with the diaphragm.
    • Nasal rinses: Saline rinses or a neti pot can help reduce inflammation and clear mucus from the nasal passages. This is great for allergies or during illness.
    • Mouth and jaw training: Myofunctional therapy involves exercises that strengthen the muscles of the face, mouth, and airway to improve breathing and oral posture.

If physical changes are needed, like correcting a deviated septum or expanding a narrow jaw, there are options for both kids and adults. Treatment might include myofunctional orthodontics, expansion devices, or minor surgical corrections. While these interventions can take time, the long-term health benefits are well worth it. Here’s what my kids have done instead of braces

How to Start Mouth Taping (and What to Use)

Mouth taping is one of those simple practices that most people can benefit from. Even if you don’t think you’re snoring, having apneas, or mouth breathing at night, you actually might. Something like an Oura ring can track your nighttime sleep and offer clues to how much rest (or not) you’re getting. If you’re really concerned, you can ask your doctor about a sleep study to monitor nighttime breathing.

An easy (and cheaper) way to get the benefits of nasal breathing at night though is to just start wearing mouth tape. There are lots of options now, but some of them have downsides. Some mouth tape can be difficult to remove, leave a sticky residue, or be uncomfortable to sleep in.

Wellnesse is my favorite brand for oral care products and they have a really great mouth tape. It’s made with bamboo silk so it’s comfortable and I like that it covers the entire lip area. If you’re subconsciously breathing around the tape at night, it’s not really helping. It’s also easy to remove for when it is time to take it off. They come in an eco-friendly container in individual tape strips, so there’s no fuss. You can learn more about Wellnesse mouth tape and try it here.

Final Thoughts on Mouth Taping’s Surprising Benefits

Mouth taping isn’t just about reducing snoring or waking up with fresh breath. It’s about reclaiming one of the body’s most important, overlooked functions, how we breathe. When we sleep, we spend about a third of our lives in a deeply restorative state. Making sure that time is optimized with proper oxygen flow, airway stability, and tongue posture can have far-reaching effects on everything from focus and mood to cardiovascular health.

So, if you’re waking up tired, grinding your teeth, or dealing with constant congestion, consider whether mouth breathing could be part of the picture. You might be surprised how much this small change can have major benefits.

  • F1 qualifying results: Charles Leclerc shocks McLaren at the Hungarian Grand Prix

F1 qualifying results: Charles Leclerc shocks McLaren at the Hungarian Grand Prix

If the first two hours of practice are any indication, McLaren looks unstoppable at the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix. Lando Norris topped the timing sheets in both FP1 and FP2, with teammate Oscar Piastri on his heels in both sessions in P2.

But the beauty of this sport is that fortunes can, and often, change with one perfect lap.

We have seen this before during the 2025 F1 season. At the Japanese Grand Prix, Norris was fastest in both FP1 and FP3, but when the clock hit 0:00 and the checkered flag flew at the end of qualifying, it was Max Verstappen on pole position.

Can Verstappen, or perhaps Charles Leclerc, who was third in both FP1 and FP2, spoil the McLaren party? Speaking of spoilers, how about Isack Hadjar, who was fourth-fastest in FP1? Can he and Visa Cash App Racing Bulls deliver a shocker today? What about Aston Martin? Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso caught George Russell’s eye after FP2, as Stroll finished fourth and Alonso finished fifth. “Aston Martin seemed to have good pace on the single lap,” noted Russell in the Mercedes post-practice report on Friday.

It is shaping up to be a fascinating day at the Hungaroring, and we’ll have it all covered here at SB Nation. Qualifying for the Hungarian Grand Prix begins at 10:00 a.m., and we’ll provide updates throughout the morning here, so please check back early and often.

    And tell a friend!

Notes: Updates are in Eastern Time.

    Q3

11:03: Qualifying did deliver a stunner. CHARLES LECLERC TAKE POLE POSITION FOR THE HUNGARIAN GRAND PRIX.

10:55: First runs are completed in Q3 and it is Piastri up top with 1 1:15.398. Norris is just off his pace with 1 1:15.494, 0.096 seconds back.

Russell is third, followed by Alonso in fourth and Verstappen in fifth.

10:52: Stroll is first out on the track, followed by Alonso.

10:51: Q3 is underway. 12 minutes to finalize the grid for tomorrow’s Hungarian Grand Prix.

10:48: We should note that after Norris in P1 and Piastri in P2 to close out Q2, Stroll was in third and Alonso in fifth.

Aston Martin might be cooking here …

Russell finished fourth in Q2, with Leclerc in sixth. Hadjar, Verstappen, Lawson, and Gabriel Bortoleto are the other driver to advance to the final segment of qualifying.

10:46: According to Race Control, Q3 will start at 4:50 p.m. local time/10:50 a.m. Eastern.

    Q2

10:43: Hamilton is out! He cannot find the time he needs to advance and he is eliminated in Q2, along with Antonelli, Bearman, Sainz, and Colapinto.

10:41: Apologies for the brief delay, in-car WiFi struggling at the moment …

Under two minutes remain in Q2 and Norris is up in P1 followed by Piastri. Final runs are underway with Antonelli, Bearman, Hamilton, Colapinto, and Sainz the five drivers at risk.

10:23: According to Race Control the start of Q2 will be delayed as marshalls clear debris off the track.

    Q1

10:19: Leclerc makes it through at the end.

Liam Lawson crosses the line in P14 right at the end, and that drops Tsunoda into the bottom five. Tsunoda, Gasly, Ocon, Nico Hülkenberg, and Alexander Albon are the five drivers eliminated.

10:17: Verstappen jumps to P7 and Tsunoda into P9, they should be through. Isack Hadjar jumps to P3 for the moment.

10:15: As noted above there was a thought that Aston Martin might deliver a surprise. That might be underway as Fernando Alonso has jumped up to P1, with Lance Stroll in P4.

Just over two minutes remain in Q1.

10:10: Early lap times are in and there are some surprises. Piastri leads the way, ahead of the Mercedes pair of George Russell and Kimi Antonelli. Norris is in fourth.

At the bottom of the timing sheets? Max Verstappen is in P13, with Yuki Tsunoda in P17. The Red Bull duo needs to find some time here if they want to book spots in Q2. The other four drivers in the drop zone with Tsunoda are Carlos Sainz Jr., Oliver Bearman, Pierre Gasly, and Esteban Ocon.

10:03: Qualifying is underway at the Hungaroring.

    Notes from FP3

9:20: The pattern largely held in FP3.

Charles Leclerc finished third behind the McLaren duo, but the names were flipped at the front. Oscar Piastri delivered a thunderous lap of 1:14.916 to set the pace. Lando Norris came close to matching Piastri’s lap, finishing 0.032 seconds off his teammates.

Leclerc’s time was 0.399 seconds behind Piastri.

Will McLaren’s dominance carry over to qualifying, or will the Hungaroring deliver a surprise?

  • Effect of Higher SALT Cap in 2025 Trump Tax Law

Effect of Higher SALT Cap in 2025 Trump Tax Law

SALT stands for State And Local Taxes. It’s basically state and local income taxes and property tax. The 2017 Trump tax law capped the tax deduction for SALT at $10,000. If you paid more than $10,000 in state and local taxes, the amount above the $10,000 cap wasn’t deductible.

The SALT cap primarily affected high earners in high-tax states. Legislators from those states had been demanding that the SALT cap be raised or repealed. The 2025 Trump tax law — One Big Beautiful Bill Act — finally raised the SALT cap for the next few years.

    Temporary SALT Cap Increase

The SALT cap goes from $10,000 to $40,000 in 2025 (one-half for married filing separately). The cap will further increase by 1% a year until 2029. Then it returns to $10,000 in 2030.

    Year SALT Cap
    2025 $40,000
    2026 $40,400
    2027 $40,804
    2028 $41,212
    2029 $41,624
    2030 $10,000

I pay more than $10,000 in state income tax and property tax. With the SALT cap increase, my SALT deduction will be uncapped because it’s less than $40,000. Does this mean my total deductions will increase now?

    Stay In Standard Deduction

Nearly 90% of taxpayers take the standard deduction. That percentage will drop slightly after the SALT cap increase, but it’s expected that over 80% of taxpayers will still take the standard deduction.

I’m in this camp. I took the standard deduction when the SALT cap was $10,000. I will continue to take the standard deduction even though I pay more than the old cap in state and local taxes. This is because when I add my other itemizable deductions (mortgage interest, charity donations, …) to the total state and local taxes I pay, it’s still lower than the standard deduction.

You will get no increase in your deductions from the SALT cap increase if you took the standard deduction under the old cap, and you’ll still take the standard deduction under the new cap (except for the rise in the standard deduction itself, unrelated to the SALT cap).

    Bunching

Bunching means shifting the timing of payments to put two years’ worth of state income tax or property tax into one calendar year. You can do it with charity donations, too.

The tax deduction on the federal tax return goes by the actual date of the SALT payments, not which tax year those payments are for. If you can shift a December payment to January or a January payment to December, you may have enough SALT payments in one calendar year to push you over the hurdle of the standard deduction. Then you will alternate between itemizing in one year and taking the standard deduction next year, as opposed to taking the standard deduction in both years.

    Switch to Itemizing

You will get a partial increase if you took the standard deduction before, and you will switch to itemizing after the SALT cap increase.

You get a partial increase because you must pass the hurdle of the standard deduction first. Taking the standard deduction gives you an allowance of free deductions. It’s free because everyone gets the standard deduction; you don’t have to do anything to get it. Switching from the standard deduction to itemized deductions means now you must pay for the allowance that used to be free with a part of your itemized deductions. Your deductions will increase only by what remains after you pay for the free allowance.

For example, suppose you have $5,000 in non-SALT itemizable deductions. You have $15,000 in total itemizable deductions under the old SALT cap, and the standard deduction is $31,500 for married filing jointly. You grab the $16,500 free allowance when you take the standard deduction. Suppose now your total itemized deductions under the new SALT cap are $45,000. Your SALT cap increases by $45,000 – $15,000 = $30,000, but your total deductions only increase by $45,000 – $31,500 = $13,500. You must use $16,500 from your $30,000 increase to pay for the allowance that used to be free.

    Continue Itemizing

You will get the full increase if you were already itemizing deductions, and you’ll continue to do so. An increase in the SALT cap increases your SALT deduction to the amount you paid in state and local taxes, up to the new cap. This increase adds to your itemized deductions dollar for dollar.

    Income-Based Phaseout

However, the new cap isn’t $40,000 for some high earners, because it has an income-based phaseout. The SALT cap drops by 30% of the Modified Adjusted Gross Income (MAGI) above $500,000. When the MAGI reaches $600,000, the SALT cap is back to the old $10,000.

The MAGI for the phaseout is the AGI for most people. It doesn’t add back untaxed Social Security or tax-free muni bond interest. The “modified” part is only for foreign earned income exclusion and residents in Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

The table below shows how the SALT cap is phased out with income. Interpolate for an income between two rows in this table.

    2025 MAGI SALT Cap
    $500,000 or less $40,000
    $510,000 $37,000
    $520,000 $34,000
    $530,000 $31,000
    $540,000 $28,000
    $550,000 $25,000
    $560,000 $22,000
    $570,000 $19,000
    $580,000 $16,000
    $590,000 $13,000
    $600,000 or more $10,000
2025 SALT Cap Phaseout for Single and Married Filing Jointly

The starting point for the phaseout also increases by 1% a year through 2029. There’s no phaseout in 2030 when the SALT cap goes back to $10,000.

    Year Phaseout Starts At
    2025 $500,000
    2026 $505,000
    2027 $510,050
    2028 $515,151
    2029 $520,302
    2030 No phaseout

    Marriage Penalty

The $500,000 income threshold for the phaseout is the same for both single and married filing jointly. It carries a huge marriage penalty. Two single persons, each earning $400,000, can deduct up to $80,000 between the two of them. A married couple earning $800,000 is phased out to a $10,000 cap. Married filing separately doesn’t help because both the phaseout threshold and the cap are cut in half.

    Higher Marginal Tax Rate

The SALT cap phaseout also increases the marginal tax rate in the phaseout income range. The tax bracket in that income range is normally 32% or 35%. Because a $10,000 increase in the phaseout income range also reduces the SALT cap by $3,000, the marginal tax rate becomes 32% * 1.3 = 41.6% or 35% * 1.3 = 45.5% when the SALT paid is limited by the cap.

High-earners in the phaseout income range should do all-out pre-tax contributions to lower their AGI.

    Calculator

I created a calculator to show whether you’ll see no increase, a partial increase, or a full increase from the new SALT cap. The calculator takes into account both the standard deduction and the SALT cap phaseout at higher incomes. It calculates the federal income tax before and after the SALT cap increase to show the tax savings.

The calculated tax does not include the Net Investment Income Tax (NIIT).

    ***

Most people will see no benefit from the SALT cap increase because they will continue to take the standard deduction. Some will see a partial increase in their deductions when they start itemizing. Only people who were already itemizing deductions before will see the full increase, unless they get phased out.

8.1 Friday Faves – The Fitnessista

Hi friends! Happy Friday! What are you up to? The Pilot is home from a trip (YAY), we’re meeting friends for a last hurrah swim and dinner at the pool, we have an NCL meeting, and family dinner at our house. Since we got back from Spain, we’ve been doing weekly family dinners again and it has been such a great way to start the week. My favorite memory from last week was watching our 10-month old niece Daisy eat a popsicle on the patio. She was a HUGE fan.

I’d love to hear what you have going on this weekend!

Mazer wanted to show you her fresh cut and long eyelashes.

It’s time for the weekly Friday Faves party. This is where I share some of my favorite finds from the week and around the web. I always love to hear about your faves, too, so please shout out something you’re loving in the comments section below.

    8.1 Friday Faves

    Fashion + beauty + random:

A moment for the shoes. (Got them in Spain but they have them at Nordstrom! I’m always a US 8 or 38, and sized up to a 39 for these and they’re perfect)

My friends at Left On Friday sent me some new suits! It was my first time trying this brand and I was blown away by the super light compressive fabric (I sized up to a medium after reading a ton of reviews online and it still felt like it held everything in), fit, and quality. It’s totally seamless and they have a ton of colors. I ended up choosing this one piece, and this top + these bottoms. The bottoms I chose had the most booty coverage and feel like this is my new fave swimsuit brand. Both suits are linked here.

New Vivobarefoots! I wanted to get a neutral color (like tan or grey) but they were sold out, so I went wild and went with pink. Can’t wait to take them for a spin this weekend! More + why you should switch to barefoot shots in this post.

Goodies from my friends at Canopy. They have fun new colors in their handheld filtered showerhead. I’m waiting for a new link – they changed their affiliate platform – but my code FITNESSISTA should still work for 15% off.

    Read, watch, listen:

Listening to this on audio and it’s inspiring and hilarious at the same time. I took Liv and a friend to the mall and walked around following from a distance (so they could have freedom but I was also watching them like a hawk lol) and was listening to this in my headphones. I’m sure I looked like a weirdo walking around and laughing to myself.

Speaking of laughing, Ali Wong on Netflix kiiiiiilled me. The Pilot was on a trip, the girls were upstairs watching a movie and hanging out, so I grabbed a blanket, Mazer, and cuddled up on the couch watching this. Heads up that it’s crass and inappropriate (pure Ali Wong style) but I loved it.

    How do you mother yourself?

This week’s podcast episode is a great one.

    Fitness, health, and good eats:

Obsessed with these Goodpop ice cream sandwiches. They’re gluten-free and the perfect lil sweet bite.

My FAVE sparkling water is at Whole Foods! It’s the one I drank every day while we were in Spain and had been missing it dearly. Ruuuuun!

(even though I die a little that it was 2 euros in Spain and $4 here. Worth it)

You need to try this lemon tart before summer is over.

Thank you so much for stopping by the blog today! Have an amazing weekend and I’ll see ya soon!

    xoxo

Figma Shares Edge Higher After Explosive IPO Debut, Despite Valuation Concerns – Figma (NYSE:FIG)

Figma Inc. FIG shares traded higher Friday, continuing to draw investor attention after a volatile debut session on Thursday that saw the stock surge over 250% following its initial public offering.

What To Know: The stock briefly reached $143.45 in after-hours trading before pulling back.

Figma priced its IPO at $33 per share, raising approximately $1.2 billion and valuing the company at over $19 billion. The offering consisted of nearly 37 million shares and was priced above an already upwardly revised range. Despite sharp gains on day one, Friday’s trading showed signs of cooling momentum as shares gave up part of their early advance.

Investor interest in Figma is being fueled by strong revenue growth and widespread enterprise adoption. The company reported $749 million in revenue for 2024, up 48% year-over-year and $228.2 million in first-quarter 2025, representing 46% growth from the year prior. Figma counts 95% of Fortune 500 companies and major tech clients such as Microsoft, Alphabet and Salesforce among its customers. It ended 2024 with a net dollar retention rate of 134%.

Still, not everyone is convinced by the valuation.

CNBC host Jim Cramer repeatedly warned on social media that Figma was “way too expensive,” trading at nearly 54 times sales based on a 40% growth rate. He advised investors to avoid placing market orders and predicted a pullback, calling it one of the most expensive stocks in the market.

    Trending Investment Opportunities

Despite those warnings, the IPO defied expectations, reinforcing investor appetite for high-growth tech names amid renewed optimism in the broader tech sector.

Figma’s debut follows the collapse of a $20 billion acquisition deal by Adobe, which was scrapped due to regulatory pressure. Now trading independently, Figma has quickly become one of the most closely watched post-IPO stocks, with some market watchers suggesting it could take on meme stock status in the coming weeks.

Friday afternoon, the stock appeared to be stabilizing after its initial surge, trading modestly higher but far below its first-day peak.

FIG Price Action: Figma shares closed Friday up 5.63% at $122, according to Benzinga Pro.
